The present invention relates to a method to estimate the blood pressure and the arterial stiffness based on photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals. New algorithms have been developed and validated based on PPG signals to analyze the cardiovascular condition of a person by estimating cardiovascular parameters. With the present invention a method for measuring one or more cardio-vascular parameters in a subject based on PPG signals is provided.
