Occhialì – Rivista sul Mediterraneo islamico is the Open Access journal the Department of Languages and Educational Sciences of the University of Calabria, Italy. It publishes academic articles, scholarly essays, original translations, and book reviews. Its main aim is to foster specialized research on Islam in the Mediterranean area. Special attention is devoted to the social, cultural and political aspects of all Middle Eastern and North African countries of the Mediterranean basin, but also to interdisciplinary approaches to the study of Islam and its history.
