In Italian modernism three-dimensional space was scanned by its graphic making-up, as if generated by geometric projections. The aesthetic of the grid and the frame was interpreted in an exemplary way by Edoardo Persico in the graphic, theoretical and architectonic variations of his last work phase in the mid 1930s with Marcello Nizzoli.
