Abstract
The trend of rebuilding from a few fragments is typical of the nineteenth century’s cultural approach. This is especially true for lexicographical texts: the Herodianus’ edition of Lentz is a clear example. This is related to the confidence in the inductive method and to the interest in comprehensive systems. In the twentieth century this stage of research was replaced by the probabilistic view for trust in getting the truth.File in questo prodotto:
