The chapter will present an analysis of the emergence and development of Service-Learning (S-L) at Bologna University, embedded in the Italian context, where the topic of S-L is new and only recently developed. What is peculiar to this situation, and deserves more attention, is the rapidity with which the idea and practice of S-L have emerged and have been implemented in few years. Starting in 2015 from about limited and not well-known experiences, the situation is now changed, a national network has been created, coordinated by Bologna team, and many initiatives are in progress that can be considered an outcome of the Europe Engage project.
