An Erasmus Intensive Programme dealing with waste management, treatment and relevant environmental impacts. It involved 7 Partner Universities of EU: Technical University of Braunschweig (Germany); University Rey Juan Carlos of Madrid (Spain); Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium); University “Dunarea De Jos” of Galati (Romania); Università di Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italia); University of Economics and Business Administration of Vienna (Austria). It was held in Rimini from 19 to 30 October 2009, with a participation of about 40 students and 25 teachers from the partner Universities. In the last three days, all participants attended Ecomondo Fair 2009. An interaction between the participants, and an exchange of technical expertises was performed; a website has been set up to allow all the researchers involved to create a scientific network on the topic of waste management and treatment.
