This study investigates the effect of gelatin on the setting time, compressive strength, phase evolution and microstructure of calcium phosphate cement. Different cement formulations were prepared from suspensions of -Ca3(PO4)2 in gelatin aqueous solutions. The cements, enriched with CaHPO42H2O, and prepared with a liquid/powder ratio of 0.3 mL/g, were soaked in simulated body fluid (SBF) for different periods of time up to 21 days. The results indicate that the presence of gelatin accelerates the setting reaction, and improves the mechanical properties of the cement
