Armadale can be regarded as the epitome of William Wilkie Collins's penchant for intricate plots that stretch the conventions of realism to their utmost limits. This highly symmetrical sensation novel epitomises the peculiar quality of Collins's inspiration, which relished on coincidences, doubles (as many as five Allan Armadales feature in the text), the capricious workings of fate and - last but not least - a premonitory dream, which is the ultimate object of my critical analysis.

Abstract
Armadale can be regarded as the epitome of William Wilkie Collins's penchant for intricate plots that stretch the conventions of realism to their utmost limits. This highly symmetrical sensation novel epitomises the peculiar quality of Collins's inspiration, which relished on coincidences, doubles (as many as five Allan Armadales feature in the text), the capricious workings of fate and - last but not least - a premonitory dream, which is the ultimate object of my critical analysis.File in questo prodotto:
