(Two) Intermedia Forms as Hybrid Genres

This contribution opens the collective volume of Aveiro's conference on Hybrid Poetics (2018). Two intermediate hybrid forms are analyzed, the fictional and / or imaginary interview and the video essay. I argue that these are examples of a productive contaminatio (a term derived from the Latin playwriter Terence). They are both adaptions of old genres and have been fully emancipated from the classic idea of sterility and impurity (i.e. hybridization) to become an active producer of new forms of literature.
