Envisioning the Landscape of Cesena

This publication reports the results of the GSD landscape design option studio conducted at the Harvard GSD by Steinitz and Pasini. The study analyzes the green system of the town of Cesena, Italy, and its broader territory to elaborate future scenarios of environmental rehabilitation. While recognizing the limitations deriving from the lack of sedimented familiarity with the local reality, the study has the advantages of distance and of taking a fresh look at issues and prospects. The proposals developed are investigations of possible futures, given the forces and factors in motion today. The aim of the study is that of allowing one to visualize the future for a moment and to decide whether it is the future that is wanted.
