Since 2005 the University of Bologna has studied and enhanced Herculaneum wall paintings. The project DHER Domus Herculanensis Rationes (2005-) is characterized by a specific cityscale line of action and aims to create an Atlas of Herculaneum Decorative Systems (AtlAdE). This project consists of a systematic and widespread photogrammetric rilief of the decorated surfaces, that enables the graphic restitution of the original syntaxes and a more exhaustive study of the decorative sets.
