While the history of the central board of this Commission has been studied by several articles and books, the chapter explores the images showing the work of the central, as well as the local commissions, underscoring the will to include in this investigative and testifying work representatives of all the local communities.

Questo capitolo sottolinea le peculiarità della Commissione straordinaria sovietica per l'investigazione dei crimini nazisti, creata nel novembre 1942, ma che iniziò effettivamente le sue indagini nella primavera del 1943.
