The preface widely introduces and extensively contextualises the reprint of the first edition of F. Couperin sonatas La Steinquerque, La Sultane and La superbe, edited by Amedée Gastoué in 1933. The edition of trio-sonatas, part of the first Opera Omnia led by Oiseau-Lyre Publishing House, is a milestone in the editorial history of Couperin's music. The edition gives the opportunity of reconsider this work, today a rarity in music libraries.
