While the non-fiction picturebook for children has exploded as a publishing phenomenon since about 2010, only recently have scholars started to investigate this new medium, its characteristics, its educational/aesthetic potential. This volume brings together the contributions of 12 scholars of children's literature from many different countries, all of them interested in developing a critical analysis of this new kind of non-fiction for children, so very different from traditional learning books as for their communication strategies.
