Around fifty of Albinoni’s cantatas have come down to us, and except for the cantata for soprano Là dove il nobil Giano (Amsterdam, c. 1701), those belonging to the Opera quarta are his only published collection of vocal works, his remaining printed oeuvre being instrumental music.The text introduces the recording of Cantata op. 4 by Tomaso Albinoni. The introduction provides a wide contextualisation of the collection, the analysis of poetic and music texts and mentions literature on the topic.
