Considering the influence of foreign precedents in constitutional decisions is today one of the most important tools used in Latin American constitutional adjudication. The purpose of this essay is to establish the frequency and the extent to which Supreme Courts and Constitutional Courts in Latin America use foreign law and foreign precedents in constitutional decisions.
