Two scholia to Aschylus’ Persians in Athous Iviron 209 (olim 161) derived from Homeric commentaries are closely investigated. An erroneous explanation of the most ancient Homeric commentators (named ‘Glossographoi’) is used in order to interpret the difficult v. 14. As for vv. 869-871, the scholion-I is similar to two passages of Ilias’ commentary of Eustathius, However it is not sure that the scholion-I derives from Eustathius. A common source of both, scholion and Eustathius, is more probable. An anonymous quotation is probably taken from a tragedy, perhaps from an Euripidean tragedy.
