The European Union Project ARRIVAL, developed in the years 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 in collaboration with University of Patras (Greece), Technical University of Berlin, University of Sevilla (Spain), University of Karlsruhe (Germany), Swiss Fedearal Institute of Technology of Zurich, SNCF (Paris), University of Valencia (Spain), University of Padova, Erasmus University (Rotterdam, The Netherland), had as main goal the development of effective exact and heuristic algorithms, and the implementation of the corresponding computer codes, for "robust" and "on-line" Railway Optimization problems (Train Timetabling, Train Unit Assignment, Train Platforming, ...).
