This study analyses the problem of Germanic loanwords in Emilian dialects, by using an Ethnophilological methodology able to rebuilt plausible anthropological scenarios behind the lexical traces. After a first part about the importance of dialects as ethnolinguistic sources of prehistoric conceptions, and a second one dedicated to the problem of ‘false Germanic loanwords’, the author studies the contribution of Germanic borrowings in the magico-religious semantic field, concentrating in particular on the Persiceto Carnival, of which the Longobards origins are illustrated

Abstract
This study analyses the problem of Germanic loanwords in Emilian dialects, by using an Ethnophilological methodology able to rebuilt plausible anthropological scenarios behind the lexical traces. After a first part about the importance of dialects as ethnolinguistic sources of prehistoric conceptions, and a second one dedicated to the problem of ‘false Germanic loanwords’, the author studies the contribution of Germanic borrowings in the magico-religious semantic field, concentrating in particular on the Persiceto Carnival, of which the Longobards origins are illustratedFile in questo prodotto:
