This paper has mainly a phraseological, a sociolinguistic and a semantic dimension. The first dimension results from the object of the investigation: a corpus of a hundred Italian and a hundred German notarial real estate sales contracts, dating from 1860 to 1960. In this corpus, phraseological binomial word combinations consisting of qualifying adjectives are examined. The second dimension arises from the diversity of the adjectives used in Italian and German notarial binomials for the purpose of mutual strengthening, posing the question of the location of these adjectives within different varieties, but also involving the third dimension, that is the problem of finding a suitable model for the semantic analysis of notarial binomials composed by qualifying adjectives referring to different dimensions of variation. In the light of the results of the corpus analysis and of the differences between Italian and German, the study also identifies, as a by-product, a number of consequences at the translation level.

Abstract
In the light of the results of the corpus analysis and of the differences between Italian and German, the study also identifies, as a by-product, a number of consequences at the translation level.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
