Introduction: Recent Trends in the Hierarchy of Labour Law Sources

The challenge of flexibilisation has been anatomised by a large number of books and articles in recent years. Our venture in this book goes beyond the details of flexibilised labour laws, and rather watches the field of regulation from a distance above, like from an aircraft. The structure of labour law sources is a distinctive feature of labour law regulation, since there is a historically elabo- rated set of sources and also a traditional hierarchy of statutory law, collective agreements at various levels and the employment contract.
