The project has as a main focus ther great Achaemenid centre of Persepolis, in Fars. It regards two areas with two different activities: 1- Conservation and documentation. The terrace of Persepolis, where Italian restore carried out extensive interventions in the past needs an updating in conservation and documentation methodology, which the project aims at providing through the participation of Italian experts in these fields. 2- Archaeology. The area of the urban settlement which the sources suggest at Persepolis is the object of new archaeological excavations.
