The volume presents the results of the second year of the research project SoURCE- Sustainable Urban Cells.The joint methodology proposed by Swedish and Italian researchers, is aimed to compare management, planning and design models, with the final goal to strengthen the link between the two research systems. This specific chapter outlines the methodological approach to two Italian case studies, with particular reference to the basic criteria established by the procedure of identification of urban cells, to the main areas of analysis and to reference indicators.
