Nord Est: sezioni di un paesaggio contemporaneo/The North East: sections of a contemporary landscape

WORK brings together in a single word the various aspects of an area’s economy, aspects that can be expressed through either concrete or abstract concepts. WORK suggested a direction to take in observing the city and the surrounding countryside, a theme that led to the investigation of certain productive spaces and a network of routes, both physical and virtual, that are fundamental to the understanding of the importance of economic development in the transformation of a broader area, and the dynamics governing relationships among people and their role in the community. Given the complexity and heterogeneity of the productive landscape, we used a series of terms to develop a better framework to understand the uniqueness of the area under examination and to clarify the aims of the research and the directions of the routes developed within what is usually called a local area, environment or landscape.

WORK riunisce, in una sola parola, i differenti aspetti legati all’economia di un territorio, esprimibili attraverso concetti concreti e astratti. WORK ha suggerito una direzione per l’osservazione della città e del paesaggio che la circonda, un tema conduttore che ha portato all’investigazione di alcuni spazi produttivi, di una rete di percorsi materiali e virtuali, fondamentali per comprendere il valore dello sviluppo economico rispetto alle trasformazioni di un territorio più vasto, delle dinamiche che regolano le relazioni tra le persone, del loro ruolo rispetto alla collettività. Considerata la complessità e l’eterogeneità del “paesaggio produttivo”, si fa ricorso a una serie di termini per meglio inquadrare le peculiarità dell’area esaminata e per chiarire sia gli orientamenti della ricerca sia i percorsi sviluppati all’interno di quello che generalmente è denominato territorio, ambiente o paesaggio.
