Abstract

An analysis of a 25,000 word corpus of reports from embeds in Iraq, analysed using a Corpus-Assisted Discourse approach and Appraisal theory, which considers how the various 'parties' involved in the conflict were evaluated. The findings of this research are at times in conflict with the Cardiff Report commissioned by the BBC to investigate claims of media partiality.
