In Italy, during Fascism, more than 250 places of detention and transit were established for Jews, stateless persons and opponents of the regime, managed by the fascist government and the German occupation troops. Shame for one of the darkest pages of our history has condemned to oblivion (if not disappearance) these places, still lacking a law to protect the vestiges of World War II. The contribution aims to take stock of what remains of these "cities", harbinger of horror, and reflect on their lack of protection.

Abstract
In Italy, during Fascism, more than 250 places of detention and transit were established for Jews, stateless persons and opponents of the regime, managed by the fascist government and the German occupation troops. Shame for one of the darkest pages of our history has condemned to oblivion (if not disappearance) these places, still lacking a law to protect the vestiges of World War II. The contribution aims to take stock of what remains of these "cities", harbinger of horror, and reflect on their lack of protection.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
