Entre el cine y la televisión. El camino italiano hacia el relato transmedia: el caso de Gomorra

In this article I will briefly overview the long and sometimes fruitful relationship between cinema and TV series, since cases of adaptation from TV serial narratives to feature films and vice versa are present in American entertainment industry since the birth of television. I will then focus on the Italian situation that is much different from the American one: in Italy these forms of adaptation are rather rare and there are very few cases until the arrival of Sky Italia. In the past 10 years Sky Italia has invested a lot of money and resources into transmedia projects. After a brief overview of Sky’s most significant achievements in this field, I will then focus on the case of Gomorra, a winning example of adaptation of a matrix content into different media,.
