Broadly speaking, the chapter focuses on the role of the human factor in cascading disasters. When confronted with the complexity of systems (such as in critical information infrastructures), inevitably humans make mistakes, but, worse than that, they may even initiate a cascading process, functioning as a negative multiplier. The chapter finds that the only way to mitigate this problem and thus increase resilience is through training and increasing awareness.

Abstract
Broadly speaking, the chapter focuses on the role of the human factor in cascading disasters. When confronted with the complexity of systems (such as in critical information infrastructures), inevitably humans make mistakes, but, worse than that, they may even initiate a cascading process, functioning as a negative multiplier. The chapter finds that the only way to mitigate this problem and thus increase resilience is through training and increasing awareness.File in questo prodotto:
