The Dictionarium Syro-Chaldaicum, published in Antwerpen, as a supplement to the polyglot Bible in 1571-2 by Guy Le Fèvre de la Boderie contains hundreds of terms from the Zohar. This fact reflects the persuasion of Guillaume Postel's most prominent pupil, that the Aramaic of the Zohar was the Language spoken by Jesus and the link between ancient Aramaic and Syriac. Although these theories could not stand later criticism, Lefevre de la Boderie produced thus, almost incidentally, the first Zoharic Aramaic-Latin dictionary in history.
