The book chapter investigates the Swiss film policy and its trends. In particular, the chapter investigates the peculiar set-up of the Swiss film market (Switzerland is a small country divided into three main linguistic regions); the complex relation between the Swiss Confederation and the European Union (Switzerland has been recently excluded from the MEDIA programme, the main EU's initiative for supporting cinema); the policies introduced by the federal government and those introduced by Cantons and/or linguistic regions. A special focus is devoted to international co-productions and to a new national film fund with economic purposes.
