The Author underlines the impact of Ict and knowledge society on the creation of new forms of job and the necessity of a radical afterthought of the traditional analytical-descriptive paradigms of the reality. Such considerations are the premise for the analysis of the phenomenon of the digital work as new form of employment, characterized by contractual and economic weakness, undertaken in a labour market crippled and unrewarding. The investigation specifically focuses on the possibility of an interpretative extension of trade union freedom of association of digital workers and on the possible associative mechanisms able to create representations and rights for new collective interests. Analysis ends with a reflection on the future of unions, on the protection of the person of worker and on the necessity to create new trade unions to bargain rights of the digital workers in the labour market.
