By showing how the all main topics and themes of cultural studies can be found in Salman Rushdie's novel Midnight's Children, this essay stresses the relevance of Rushdie’s novel as a one of the most accomplished instances of a modern classic, and a perfect example of a postcolonial “passage” into the contemporary World literature.
