EDUCATION THROUGH BODILINESS As human beings we are requested to properly develop our humanty, and this needs care, training, knowledge, feeling and a proper behaviour. Body is the first patency of our existence, it is our resource to exercise, get real what we feel and think. Present issue shows an effort about how to investigate and set real training resources: knowledge let alone doesn’t mean expertise or proficiency, knowledge let alone doesn’t bear action and trasformation, knowledge without practice doesn’t mean at all. Education through bodiliness is a sort of model to train whoever involved with education to acquire knowledge in terms of inquiry (rekindle the zest for asking about meaning of what we simply call “the life”), to train how to do and to do it properly (being real witness of our knowledge), to train how to support others in their process of inquiry, training and proficiency, as it is suggested also by deweyan approach. The laboratory that I set for my students - rooted on extreme eastern philosophy and method of practice -aims to exercise body, mind and breath, to experience their interconnection, in order to learn deeply about ourselves from our body linked to our mind and breath. Muscles, posture, rythm of breath tell us a lot of our habits, (belief, thought, emotion..) and we should be aware of our posture that is also our posture in our existence. Human beings can learn by a variety of ways, mainly by those ones that involve human beings in their own whole, within an ecological and aesthetical approach; learning is a sort of art and art needs a connection between intellectual ability, understanding activity, sensibility, insight, skills and action. Life itself is an ecological and aesthetical experience. Learning through body-mind-breath experiences is learning to “feel” and “listen” deeply, by listening and proprely feeling our selves we can find a way to learn how to feel and listen others (all living beings, the nature, the environment). Education through gesture is a sort of attunement: mind, heart, breath, thought, emotion, feeling, action. First step is our body: so every exercise is to enhance awareness of our posture and correct it, in different situation: standing still, walking, sitting, laying. Inner motivation allows to face the existence with aesthetic approach, cared action, love for life.
