This monographic issue of de genere is devoted to issues of transnational solidarity – including feminist, gender, queer and LGBTQIA solidarity – in contemporary literature and art, as well as in the most recent theoretical production. While prompted by recent historical events, this focus on transnational solidarity is meant to reconnect with several traditions in critical thinking, ranging from transnational feminism and intersectionality to specific theoretical models for coalition work. If the general attempt is to avoid the reproduction of identity politics, the analysis of specific case studies aims to locate these reflections within the material contexts where the development of theories and practices of solidarity is growingly needed.

Abstract
This monographic issue of de genere is devoted to issues of transnational solidarity – including feminist, gender, queer and LGBTQIA solidarity – in contemporary literature and art, as well as in the most recent theoretical production. While prompted by recent historical events, this focus on transnational solidarity is meant to reconnect with several traditions in critical thinking, ranging from transnational feminism and intersectionality to specific theoretical models for coalition work. If the general attempt is to avoid the reproduction of identity politics, the analysis of specific case studies aims to locate these reflections within the material contexts where the development of theories and practices of solidarity is growingly needed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
