Abstract
The evolution of the concept of fashion within Italian society is fundamental, starting from the analysis of those institutions, which have contributed to the development of main fashion hubs in Italy. The aim of this essay is to investigate the birth and the improvement of those main institutes that have managed Italian fashion since the end of the Second World War until the establishment of the Camera nazionale della moda [National chamber for Italian fashion] in 1962. In order to examine the institutionalisation of the fashion sector and analyse the relationships between the various government bodies and the fashion institutions, this paper will mainly consider the documentation on the topic that has been preserved in the Archivio centrale dello stato, [Central state archive] in Rome.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
