Abstract

Company survival is connected to the integrated picture of company responsibilities, that are deeply involved in network corporate governance. The case analyzed in the work—EoC Spa—highlights the mechanisms which make responsible governance possible, which remains strongly linked to the company’s mission and accountability. The study has been developed from the theoretical and empirical view of the discovery of the logic of reciprocity as the “engine” of socially responsible governance. Literature review involves the description of reciprocity in business and enterprises. This form of interaction is well expressed by the reciprocal experience of giving and receiving. There is the presence of an intrinsic reward that the actor gets from the action itself, before and regardless of the outcome. This concept is also connected to the importance of the good life and management looking for the truth, the good and the beautiful in corporate decision-making. Furthermore, some authors consider “unity in multiplicity” as a qualifying character of the modern company, which is implemented in the case and analyzed. Reciprocity in the dynamics of the EoC (Economy of Communion) industrial parks generates creativity and sensitivity towards poverty and becomes an engine of intrinsic motivation, that is able to establish motivation and potential innovative framework of responsible governance to better encounter and face new environmental and social challenges.
