The chapter analyzes whether Clausewitz's theory of war is still applicable in 'hybrid' world, where states and non-state actors blur and confuse the international system. Clausewitz's theory of war was devised in the moment when nation-states dominated and it there is little room in his analysis for non-state actors. In today's confusing time there seems to be difficult to apply Clausewitz's theory and categories. Indeed, the chapter shows how that theory of war is still applicable to today asymmetric and hybrid conflicts, without losing anything of its explanatory power.

Abstract
The chapter analyzes whether Clausewitz's theory of war is still applicable in 'hybrid' world, where states and non-state actors blur and confuse the international system. Clausewitz's theory of war was devised in the moment when nation-states dominated and it there is little room in his analysis for non-state actors. In today's confusing time there seems to be difficult to apply Clausewitz's theory and categories. Indeed, the chapter shows how that theory of war is still applicable to today asymmetric and hybrid conflicts, without losing anything of its explanatory power.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
