The project looks at the production of a dynamic monitoring tool complying with TRL 7, which can detect the changes in frequency content of a vibrating bridge. The aim of the device is the possibility to detect damages in infrastructures in order to avoid failures in service and plan maintenance of the bridges. In the project the focus is on the real investigation of some bridges existing in Italy U.K. and US, by using a newly designed and implemented device called SHAPEbox. In the research development, two 1:4 scale specimen bridges built in the DICAM Lab at the University of Bologna will be damaged and investigated in order of tuning the procedure for the real bridge identification.
