Whispered interpreting is a fundamental mode of interpreting in courtrooms, and is a legal requirement after the introduction of the EU directive 2010/64. However, this mode of interpreting is almost totally absent from Italy's courts. The authors of this article propose ways of teaching whispered interpreting that are specific to the Italian context.
