In 2002 , the Wormser Nibelungenfestspiele asked to the writer Moritz Rinke (1962) the dramatization of the Nibelungs' story. The celebrative occasion (re-opening of the cultural kermesse in a re-unified Germany) gives to the dramaturgist the occasion to reflect on a complex tradition, strongly bound to the recent collective memory of Germans during the Nazi period. Hence, the story of the Niblungs on the stage is connected to a political action. Rinke knows it very well and he used the Niblungs in order to show contemporary Germany with its clichés, fear, and the relationship with those phantoms that in his rewrtring written in 2007 is still more evident.

Abstract
In 2002 , the Wormser Nibelungenfestspiele asked to the writer Moritz Rinke (1962) the dramatization of the Nibelungs' story. The celebrative occasion (re-opening of the cultural kermesse in a re-unified Germany) gives to the dramaturgist the occasion to reflect on a complex tradition, strongly bound to the recent collective memory of Germans during the Nazi period. Hence, the story of the Niblungs on the stage is connected to a political action. Rinke knows it very well and he used the Niblungs in order to show contemporary Germany with its clichés, fear, and the relationship with those phantoms that in his rewrtring written in 2007 is still more evident.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
