This work is part of a project – coordinated by Carmen Quijada Van der Berghe and Hugo E. Lombardini – that aims to study the pronunciation in Spanish grammars for French and Italian speakers of the nineteenth century. The work’s purpose is a twofold one: to establish a set of possibilities that Spanish grammars for Italian speakers had to present the Spanish pronunciation and to stipulate the peculiarities of each grammar of the corpus (Marín [1833], Gaffino [1869], Zuccaro [1881] and Gorra [1898]). These objectives are achieved by the exhaustive review of the places where pronunciation is mentioned and the qualitative and quantitative study of their information.
