The first and second parts of the paper highlight the importance of Dmitry Prigov, they provide an explanation of the way his creativity is connected to the genre of the “alphabet” and its development in Russian culture. The third and fourth parts provide some essential features of Russian Conceptualism and deal with Prigov’s poetics of Alphabets. The fifth part looks at the criteria used by the author to translate Third Alphabet into Italian. The Russian original of the Third Alphabet and its Italian translation are included in the sixth (and last) part of this paper.
