In this study the author proposes a new reading of these two Hebrew funerary stones from Venosa, southern Italy. Its interpretation shades new light on the understanding of the text of epitaph, if compared with the reading proposed during the 19th and 20th centuries by other epigraphists, and for the first time a palaeographical analysis of the script.
