The Journal of Science and Technology of the Arts (CITARJournal) is a peer-reviewed publication that results from a commitment of the Research Center for Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR) to promote knowledge, research and artworks in the field of the Arts. The Journal provides a distinctive forum for anyone interested in the impact which the application of contemporary Science and Technology is having upon the Arts. The Journal is published annually by the Portuguese Catholic University, under an open access policy and has no article submission charges or article processing charges. The CITAR Journal covers a wide range of topics related to the study and practice of Artistic work approached through Science and Technology, including Aesthetics of New Media; Audiovisual and Cinematic Art; Digital Arts; Digital Culture; Generative Art/Systems; New Interfaces for Digital Expression, etc.The CITAR Journal follows the best practices set out by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics ) regarding the ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the publication of an article (author, journal editor, reviewer, and publisher).The CITAR Journal was (July 2016) accepted for inclusion in a new index of the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection: the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). The journal has also been accepted for indexing by Elsevier's Scopus, and for full-text archive on ProQuest (International Index to Music Periodicals).
