Abstract
This study analyzes and interprets Gramatica della lingua spagnuola, o sia, L’ italiano istruito nella cognizione di questa lingua by Francesco Marin (1833). For this, the work defines and sets forth the entire corpus of nineteenth century Spanish grammars for italian speakers (chapter 1), considers the biographical data of the author (chapter 2) and places every editions of the Gramatica in its historical, political, social and publishing environment (chapter 3). The study analyzed then the hyperstructure of Marin’s work qualitatively and quantitatively (chapter 4) and the contents of its introductory peritexts (chapter 5), of its main text (chapter 6), of its lexicographical supplements (chapter 7) and of its final peritexts (chapter 8). The study conducts a series of exploratory surveys (spelling system in chapter 9, terminology in capter 10, uses of examples and translation of texts in chapter 11 and types and functions of foonetes in chapter 12) and conducts also a series intrepretatin studies of the text (contrastivity in chapter 13, sources of the Gramatica in chapter 14, the Gramatica as a source of other works in chapter 15). The work shows that Marin’s Gramatica is one of the most important nineteenth century Spanish grammars for italian speakers: it gave updates information, it was a commercial success, it was a benchmark for teaching Spanish for a very long time, its was a contrastive model of grammar, it was a sourse for othes grammars and, so, it extended its indirect influence to the early twentieth century.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
