An international congress (with the partecipation of the most prominent scholars in the field) devoted to compounding. In particular, the following aspects of compounding will be analyzed: universals and typology, phonology, acquisition, computational aspects. Also problems of delimitation will be discussed (compounding /syntax, compounding derivation, compounding in sign language). Some specific types of componds will be analyzed, together with specific properties of compounding such as linking elements. There will be talks also on coputational aspects of compounding as well as on acquisition of compounds and compounding in sign language. This framework is, therefore, a very advanced and complete approach to this category that currently is very important for the so called 'architecture of gramamr'. It will be held in Bologna (June, 6/7). See the program at
