The course will review statistical methods used in paleontology. Concurrently, the course will offer practical training in statistical analysis (PAST, SAS and SAS/IML software) as well as in reporting data and results. In addition to the classic parametric methods, the course will cover the computer-intensive statistical strategies such as bootstrapping and Monte Carlo methods. The school will target graduate students, post-doctoral associates, and other post-graduate researchers interested in conducting paleontological research. However, most of the materials covered in the course will be useful to all students and researchers in geo- and biosciences, who are interested in using quantitative data in their research.

Abstract
The course will review statistical methods used in paleontology. Concurrently, the course will offer practical training in statistical analysis (PAST, SAS and SAS/IML software) as well as in reporting data and results. In addition to the classic parametric methods, the course will cover the computer-intensive statistical strategies such as bootstrapping and Monte Carlo methods. The school will target graduate students, post-doctoral associates, and other post-graduate researchers interested in conducting paleontological research. However, most of the materials covered in the course will be useful to all students and researchers in geo- and biosciences, who are interested in using quantitative data in their research.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
