Abstract
Literary and epigraphic sources bear witness to the existence in some important ecclesiastical complexes of a skeuophylakia, i.e., a building used for the storing of vasa sacra and other precious objects. Although archaeological evidence of these buildings survive only in a few church complexes, such as those of St. Sophia in Constantinople and St. John in Ephesus, a collation of the available data can contribute to improve our understanding of ritual behaviours in relation to the Early Byzantine architectural formsFile in questo prodotto:
