The monograph GR | Giovanna Ricotta 2015-1997, that retrace the key stages of the nearly twenty-year career of the performer known italian artist, opens with two essays of the volume editor Guido Bartorelli and Silvia Grandi, and a contribution by Fabiola Naldi. In addition to the large photographic documentation of the most important works created from 1997 to 2015 (performances, installations, videos and photographs), the volume collects the cards of each job and proposes an anthology of extracts from the main texts by several authors (Renato Barilli, Fabriano Fabbri Alessandra Galletta, Alessandra Galasso, Marco Senaldi, etc.) who wrote about Giovanna Ricotta. The book was published on the occasion of the grand exhibition held from June 6 to 10 October 2015 at the sixteenth-century Palazzo Pretorio of Cittadella (Padova), for the official reopening of the building after restoration. The exhibition was sponsored by the Praetorian Palace Foundation non-profit organization, the City of Citadella and the Fondazione Cassa Risparmio of Padova and Rovigo, with the sponsorship of the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna and the Department of Culture, Archaeology, History of art, cinema and music at the University of Padova.
Il libro monografico GR | Giovanna Ricotta 2015-1997, che percorre a ritroso le tappe salienti della quasi ventennale carriera della nota artista performer, si apre con due saggi dei curatori del volume, Guido Bartorelli e Silvia Grandi, e un contributo di Fabiola Naldi. Oltre alla nutrita documentazione fotografica delle più importanti opere realizzate 1997 al 2015 (performance, installazioni, video e fotografie), il volume raccoglie le schede di ogni singolo lavoro e propone un'antologia di estratti dai principali testi critici di numerosi autori (Renato Barilli, Fabriano Fabbri, Alessandra Galletta, Alessandra Galasso, Marco Senaldi, ecc.) che hanno scritto su Giovanna Ricotta. Il libro è stato realizzato in occasione della imponente mostra personale tenutasi dal 6 giugno al 10 ottobre 2015 presso il cinquecentesco Palazzo Pretorio di Cittadella di Padova, per la riapertura ufficiale del palazzo dopo i restauri. La mostra è stata promossa dalla Fondazione Palazzo Pretorio onlus, dal Comune di Cittadella e dalla Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, con il Patrocinio del Dipartimento delle Arti dell'Università di Bologna e dal Dipartimento dei Beni culturali, Archeologia, Storia dell'arte, del cinema e della musica dell'Università degli studi di Padova.
