Abstract

The strip of golden sand fifteen kilometres long between the Adriatic and the green cultivated lands in Jesolo becomes a theatre, from the fifties, of the strong urbanization process. The uncontrolled expansion, dictated by a “mass tourism”, thus produces a problematic situation with elements of great imbalance. The Masterplan drawn up by Kenzo Tange in 1997 attempted to respond to these problematic issues. A series of planning proposals dedicated to the river Sile, on an area that the Masterplan of Kenzo Tange intended to host the "City of Music”, select and bring to light physical and morphological elements which belong to the water system proposing them as significant references, instruments for transformation of the territory in harmony with its origins and, at the same time, with its future image.
